Activism Green is the new Red. In the 50's suspected communists in America were hunted down by Senator Joe McCarthy. Many people in politics, entertainment and journalists lost their jobs and livelihood just because of him. Now the FBI says they can prosecute people who protest and gather evidence against factory farms as terrorists. This is in America, the so called home of democracy. Shame on them.
This is big business using the law to shut down any opposition to their despicable business practises which treat animals inhumanely and pollutes the environment. It also subjects the local people to disgusting, foul odors, polluted wells, poisoned rivers and streams and totally ruins ther lifestyle and destroys real estate values. It's all done in the name of farming, like farming is above the law.
These factory farms are not farms, they are industrialized mass animal concentration camps. They are simply massive factories which treat animals as raw materials, nothing else. To call this farming is a total fabrication dreamt up by marketing types to make urban man think everything is normal. These are "Animal Factories" and should be treated as a noxious industry, like a lead plant or paint factory. They should be controlled by zoning standards consistent with industry not farming. By using the farming designation the big corporations are hoodwinking local governments to reduce their overhead and boost their profits at the expense of both animals and people everywhere.
It's time government stood up for the consumers, the local people near these farms and the humane treatment of animals. This issue is very good example of how big corporations and big government operate in collusion with another with no regard for the interests of the 99% (or the animals). The fight has been going on for 15 years or so now, this is not news, but this reality.
