The United States has been hi jacked by Billionaires, Next the World
A government by the people for the people it decidedly is not. Billionaires have taken over Governors Mansions in many States pulling any strings of government they wish. In some States, local elected governments have been suspended. Peaceful protests in New York and Berkeley, Ca, have been forcibly broken up by police using clubs in violation of the First Amendment. Science is treated as fiction in Texas and the US Congress. Idiotic stooges are running for the Republican Party Presidential nomination. The Supreme Court allows corporations to spend unlimited amounts through 3rd party groups to political parties virtually giving billionaires the reins of power. So called impartial Supreme Court Justices are going out to official dinners as favoured guests of lobbyists for decisions under current review. I know there smart, competent people in the US. Aren’t you embarrassed by all this? The country is going down the toilet. The barons of greed are in control.
American had a bad name in the 50’s and 60’s as the “ugly American”. This has now been changed to the “stupid Americans” Big oil caused one of the biggest natural disasters with the recent Gulf leak. Now I find these same oil companies are exempt from polluting the groundwater (compliments of Bush2) throught the United States by a process called “fracking”. This not only pollutes the water American drink by adding carcinogens which will no doubt massively increase the risk of cancer, fracking also makes water combustible raising a huge risk for fires in homes. This is done all in the name of the almighty dollar. The practice of hydraulic fracturing has come under scrutiny internationally due to concerns about the environment, health and safety, and has been suspended or banned in some countries. Not in the US, where the dollar reigns supreme and to hell with the people.
The Occupy Wall street movement is about restoring the power of the people. It’s about restoring true democracy. The fact that elected governments are using the police to subvert democracy should be very disturbing. Apparently they don’t believe in true democracy or is it because these governments are in the pocket of the billionaires who fund their campaigns. Every single person around the world should be eternally grateful to these people who are protesting in support of this movement.
The American Corporation is a multinational phenomena which operates very well with the Harper government in Ottawa and all right wing governments around the world. Harper was held in check by minority governments but now he has a majority so Canadians have to be much more vigilant. In the UK where climate change was taken seriously, the new government is back tracking due to the economy. Make no mistake about corporate Big Oil is behind that too. Many Third World countries have few environmental, public health laws, no organized labour and a history of human rights abuses. These kind of countries are heaven on Earth for the multinational corporation which take advantage of all these loopholes to feed their apparent ravishing hunger for more, more and more money. Corporations already effectively own these countries. Is yours next?
